Hey! So Glad You're Here.
Dr. AIC54 is Ajai Simmons and a Mathematics Professor at Lone Star College, where her passion is improving developmental/corequisite math courses. She has been part of the Lone Star College system since 2012. She is also an Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) facilitator for the system and local representative for the state of Texas; this program helps employees fulfill their capstones for the Higher Education Teaching Institute (HETI) Program. The goal of ISW is to step away from the details of content and enhance the teaching effectiveness in classrooms. The idea is that “we are all masters of our content, but improvements can be made in our instructional skills”. From 2009-2012, Dr. Simmons facilitated an 80-hour workshop called Intel Math for k-8 teachers to help deepen their understanding of math to strengthen their ability to teach their students.

She continues her career in education, while continuing to be a wife and mother of two.
